About Horndeski Plastic Surgery

 

Meet the Doctor...
Dr. Horndeski received his Doctor of Medicine in 1976 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He has completed his residency in general surgery at the University Hospital of Cleveland, a Fellowship in Microvascular Reconstructive surgery at M.D. Anderson in Houston, and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University of Texas branch at Herman Hospital. He also continued his training with a Fellowship in Hand surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit.

As a triple Board Certified surgeon, Dr. Horndeski holds the prestigious honor of being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received a certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand by the American Board of Surgery in 1994 and was certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1994.

Dr. Horndeski is a published author in the prestigious Plastic and Reconstructive Journal: Abdominoplasty with Mesh Reinforcement and Abdominoplasty with Mesh Reinforcement Ventral Herniorrhaphy. He also has other research papers awaiting publication. Because of his background in engineering, Dr. Horndeski has successfully found a way to reshape a woman's breasts without the use of implants or old techniques that leave unsightly scars. He has captured nationwide attention by developing a new type of bariatric surgery technique using a modified abdominoplasty procedure.

Dr. Horndeski is an expert in Breast Lifts and Breast Reductions, and actively participates in "Expert Q&A" on RealSelf.com.  He was chosen "Best Breast Surgeon 2010" by his peers in Health and Fitness Sports magazine.

Meet the PA . . .
Elisa Gonzalez is the Physician Assistant employed by Dr. Horndeski. A Physician Assistant is a person who practices medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician. A Physician Assistant increases the efficiency of the practice by allowing the supervising physician to see patients with more complex problems and help with increased patient education. 

Elisa received her Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2000.

Elisa has been employed with Dr. Horndeski since 1994, and is fluent in Spanish. She assists Dr. Horndeski in surgical procedures, administers vein injection treatments, assists with hospital rounds, and handles all aspects of patient education.

Elisa is board certified by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners for Physician Assistants and is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants. She is also a Certified Surgical Assistant and has an Associates degree in Biology.
