Dr. Horndeski offers a reconstructive tummy tuck that is different than what other
plastic surgeons perform. Most surgeons excise and resect the abdominal fat and skin and then repair
the patient's fascia layer in the midline. The fascia layer is the layer that supports the abdomen and
often stretches with weight gain or pregnancy resulting in bulging or hanging of the abdomen. With the
reconstructive procedure, the fascia is sutured at three sites to produce an hour glass figure. This provides
for additional support and flattening of the abdomen. The results are a better contouring and narrower waist in many patients.
